IRES is currently looking for an experienced Chief Mate to join an Offshore Construction Vessel project.

Work Location: Offshore Construction Vessel

Contract Duration: 6 months

Key Requirements:

• Maritime Education
• Minimum 3 years of experience as Chief Mate onboard an offshore pipelay vessel with an 8-point mooring system
• Proven experience in managing and directing Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessels during complex anchor deployment, retrieval and shifting operations
• Strong practical knowledge of 8-point spread mooring systems
• Ability to supervise and coordinate deployment, operation and maintenance of the vessel’s mooring system
• Valid STCW required certificates
• National CoC Reg. II/2 and endorsement
• Fluent English and Azerbaijani
• Strong knowledge of offshore marine operations, vessel stability, safety and HSEQ requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Master in the safe and efficient operation of the vessel
• Oversee the deck department and supervise Deck Officers and Deck Crew
• Assist the Master during navigation, manoeuvring and offshore operational phases
• Act as Vessel Safety Officer in accordance with SOLAS and Company HSES procedures
• Act as Ship Security Officer when required
• Supervise and coordinate anchor handling and 8-point spread mooring operations
• Ensure safe vessel station-keeping during pipelay operations
• Carry out stability and lifting calculations and coordinate vessel ballasting and crane movements
• Ensure compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, ISPS, MLC 2006, GMDSS, Flag, Class and other applicable requirements
• Coordinate safety drills, permit-to-work requirements and onboard safety procedures
• Maintain and oversee lifting/rigging certification requirements
• Take command of the vessel if the Master is unable to continue in command
• Ensure full compliance with Company HSEQ policies and procedures
