Computer Numerical Control Programmer

Role Description The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Programmer will be responsible for developing, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs for machining and milling operations at Mexaniki Təmir Zavodu MMC in Sumqayit. This full-time, on-site role includes interpreting technical drawings and specifications, selecting appropriate tools and machining parameters, and ensuring efficient and accurate production of components. The CNC Programmer will collaborate with machine operators and engineers to troubleshoot issues, improve process reliability, and reduce waste and downtime. Daily tasks include testing and adjusting programs, performing trial runs, verifying part dimensions, and maintaining clear documentation of programs and setup instructions. The role also involves following safety procedures and quality standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and engineering blueprints.
• Proficiency in CNC programming, including creating, editing, and optimizing programs for various machines.
• Hands-on experience with machining and milling processes, including tooling selection and setup.
• Strong programming skills related to CNC controls and G-code, with attention to accuracy and efficiency.
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM software and basic computer skills for documentation and data entry.
• Understanding of manufacturing safety standards and quality control practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machining and programming issues.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with production and engineering teams.
• Previous experience in a metalworking or mechanical repair facility is an advantage.
• Technical education in mechanical engineering, manufacturing technology, or a related field is preferred.
