Proqram mühəndisi (Tech Lead)

Job Summary:

As a Software Engineer (Tech Lead), you will be responsible for leading a cohort of 200+ IT field students undergoing training in software engineering. We focus on training to Silicon Valley standards and on a strong learning community and culture. These two are imperative for our programmes and for you as a technical program manager. You will:

• Manage the team of instructor-programmers;
• Track performance indicators related to instructor-programmers' areas and ensure the development of the necessary strategy;
• Participate closely in the development of curricula and syllabi;
• Shape the technical strategy and lead its execution;
• Lead the technical team's recruitment process, development, and performance;
• Track students' daily progress in the programme and provide them with mentorship;
• Manage the project-based learning process and guide students in working on real software projects;
• Organize daily stand-up meetings, code discussions, pair programming, and code review sessions;
• Act as a guiding mentor in helping students resolve the technical problems they encounter;
• Hold one-on-one mentoring sessions and prepare students' development plans;
• Track students' progress in the programme, identify students at risk, and provide them with additional support;
• Support students through technical interviews, CV review, GitHub portfolio review, and the career preparation process;
• Contribute to the development and improvement of learning materials, assignments, and practical projects;
• Provide support, together with other instructor-programmers, on digital solutions for internal needs;
• Participate in hackathons, workshops, and other technical events, and support their organization;
• Act in accordance with Peerstack Academy's educational standards and values.

Our Requirements:

Technical Skills

• Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial software development;
• In-depth knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles;
• Ability to work with Git and GitHub;
• Experience working with SQL and databases;
• Knowledge of developing and using REST APIs;
• Knowledge of the software development process and modern development workflows;
• Ability to analyze problems and explain solutions;
• Fluent spoken and written communication in Azerbaijani and English;
• Ability to work with technical documentation in English.

Experience with one or more of the following technologies is considered an advantage (not all are required):

Java | Python | JavaScript / TypeScript | React / NextJS | Node.js | Spring Boot | C | C# | Go | Rust | Docker | Linux | AWS or other Cloud platforms | AI and AI development tools

Preferred Candidates

• Those with Senior Software Engineer or Team Lead experience;
• Those who have been involved in mentoring junior programmers;
• Those who have worked as a mentor or instructor in bootcamps or training programmes;
• Those who have participated in Open Source projects;
• Those with hackathon or startup experience;
• Those who work with AI and modern programming tools.
