Laboratory and QC supervisor

Role

The Lab & QC Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control laboratories, ensuring the highest standards of analytical testing, laboratory performance, compliance, and operational efficiency. The role combines strong technical expertise in laboratory analysis with leadership capabilities to supervise laboratory personnel, maintain testing reliability, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Laboratory management and analytical expertise

• Define and implement processes, procedures and supporting systems for QA/QC laboratory management
• Implement the analytical methods for QA/QC tests
• Maintain and improve the standard operating procedures
• Solid leadership experience and ability to the manage staff to achieve the required level of quality of testing
• Supervise laboratory technician activities
• Maintain staff expertise level by training
• Manage relationships with local logistics and service partners
• Maintain records of performance of the testing instruments
• Organize proficiency tests of the individual QA/QC labs
• Organize preventive maintenance program
• Calculate corrective injection values to maintain the prescribed marking level
• Assure analytical expertise to the mobile laboratories
• Liaise with the R&D team for analytical methods modification/ improvement

General / Other Activities

• Ensure that all SICPA policies, including those concerning Health, Safety and Environmental protection, are respected, and implement or propose improvements to such practices.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of general policies, processes and procedures
• Manage special tasks, projects or initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, or cost

PROFILE

• Degree in the field of Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or related field
• Five (5) years of relevant professional experience in petroleum, petrochemical, and/ or energy industry on analytical laboratory management
• Experience and knowledge of Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectrometry
• Sound understanding of XRF equipment operation and maintenance
• Fluency in English and Azerbaijani, both written and spoken
