We are looking for a passionate and motivated German language teacher assistant to join our team in the upcoming academic year. To undertake work/care/support programmers to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. To work under the instruction/guidance of senior/teaching staff to support the delivery of quality learning and teaching and to help raise standards of achievement for all pupils.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Few hours of Teaching German Language
Working one-to-one or with small groups of pupils
Supporting pupils with learning difficulties or disabilities
Preparing the classroom for lessons
Tidying up and keeping the classroom in good order
Creating displays of pupils’ work
Helping on school outings or at school events
To develop a knowledge of a range of learning support needs and to develop an understanding of the specific needs of the pupils to be supported;
clarifying and explaining instructions;
assisting with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes;
Providing support for individual children inside and outside the classroom to enable them to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
To provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under the guidance of the teacher;
Assist with the class teacher (and other professionals as appropriate), in the development and planning of a suitable programme of support for pupils;
Support class teachers in photocopying and other tasks in order to support teaching
Works with the teacher in developing, in accordance with school guidelines, reasonable rules of classroom behavior and appropriate techniques that are consistently applied.
Works with the teacher in taking necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
Shares responsibility during the school day for the supervision of students in all areas of the school.
All other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Qualified or licensed Teacher;
Strong curriculum understanding;
Strong subject area knowledge;
A ‘can do’ approach to work and a strong work ethic;
Minimum 2 years classroom/teaching experience;
A good command of spoken and written English German;
Understanding of child safeguarding obligations;
Supports and promotes the ABC ethos of child-centered education without compromising our academic performance;
Ability to communicate effectively with parents and students;
The ability to motivate and inspire students from a wide range of linguistic backgrounds;
Growth mindset;
ICT literacy
