Junior data analyst

Junior Data Analyst position sits in the central Ecosystem Analytics team. The team aligns each vertical's analytics team, and the business functions they serve, with the ecosystem's overall analytics direction and strategic goals.

Track the performance of existing ecosystem-level strategic metrics, including but not limited to Customer/Merchant Lifetime Value and Customer/Merchant Acquisition

Cost, using consistent definitions across all verticals

• Facilitate engagement with Data Governance so that data sources feeding ecosystem metrics stay valid, reliable, and centrally quality-assured. This covers raising data quality issues, coordinating follow-ups between vertical analytics teams and Data Governance, and confirming fixes are reflected in reporting
• Help keep workflow cadence and documentation standards aligned between the central team and vertical analytics teams, so reporting cycles, metric definitions, and data lineage stay consistent across the ecosystem
• Engage with Data Analytics, Data Science, and business vertical/horizontal stakeholders to gather requirements, source data, and deliver analyses and reports that fit the ecosystem-wide view
• Support the Product Team with cross-vertical data and analyses that help identify ecosystem growth opportunities and synergies
• Assist in market research and analysis of trends, customer needs, and competitor activity, framed around the ecosystem's strategic priorities rather than a single vertical
• Analyze data across verticals to identify opportunities for improving product performance and customer satisfaction at ecosystem level
• Support the preparation of financial models and feasibility analyses for new products and business initiatives, using centrally agreed data sources and assumptions

Flag data anomalies, inconsistencies between vertical and central figures, unexpected metric movements, and reporting delays to the team lead

Prepare regular performance reports on existing strategic metrics for the team and management, based on validated, governance-approved data

• Keep documentation up to date, including metric definitions, performance reports, and analysis logs, in line with the central documentation standards shared with vertical teams
• Prepare reports and presentations that summarize findings and recommendations for management and other stakeholders, showing how vertical results contribute to ecosystem goals
• Keep track of industry trends and regulatory changes that may impact the retail banking business and the wider ecosystem
• Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Operations by providing data and analytical support that keeps their work aligned with ecosystem analytics and strategic objectives

Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field; a Master's degree is an advantage.

Minimum 1 year of experience in Data Analytics, Business Analysis or related field

• Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory. It is the primary working language for all deliverables, communications, and reporting.
• Proficiency in Azerbaijani (written and spoken) is mandatory. It is required for engagement with vertical teams and business stakeholders, local research, and official correspondence.
• Knowledge of Russian is an asset that may help with access to regional sources. It carries no direct weight in candidate assessment or selection.
• Demonstrated analytical thinking, with the ability to turn complex datasets from multiple sources into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
• Working knowledge of fintech, digital payments, e-commerce, or financial services, gained through professional experience, analytical projects, or relevant professional training.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, lookup functions), PowerPoint, and at least one BI platform (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent). Basic SQL knowledge is an advantage.
• Understanding of data quality principles: checking data consistency and accuracy, and recognising when a data source needs validation.
• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce structured reports, executive summaries, and business documents to a professional standard.

Self-motivated, with strong time management; able to handle multiple concurrent tasks and requests from different stakeholders while keeping attention to detail under tight deadlines.

• Genuine interest in Azerbaijan's digital economy, its financial technology ecosystem, and the changing landscape of regional and global payment infrastructure
