We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Site SCADA Engineer to join our team for a utility-scale Solar PV project in Azerbaijan. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a large-scale international renewable energy project within a global EPC environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the installation, configuration, and commissioning of SCADA systems at project sites.
• Coordinate SCADA activities with Electrical, Protection & Control, Commissioning, and Grid Connection teams.
• Configure and test communication between:
• Inverters
• Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
• Battery Management Systems (BMS)
• Power Plant Controllers (PPC)
• RTUs
• PLCs
• Revenue Meters
• Meteorological Stations
• Protection Relays
• Perform point-to-point testing, signal validation, and communication verification.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, energization, and performance testing.
• Troubleshoot SCADA communication and control issues during construction and commissioning.
• Verify compliance with project specifications, grid operator requirements, and communication protocols.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, equipment suppliers, and client representatives during commissioning.
• Prepare commissioning reports, test documentation, punch lists, and as-built records.
• Support remote monitoring system implementation and handover to Operations & Maintenance teams.
• Ensure all SCADA activities are executed in accordance with company QA/QC and HSE procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in SCADA engineering for utility-scale Solar PV, BESS, substations, or power generation projects.
• Previous site commissioning experience within an EPC environment is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols including:
• IEC 61850
• IEC 60870-5-101/104
• Modbus RTU/TCP
• DNP3
• OPC UA
• Experience with RTUs, PLCs, industrial networking, fiber optic systems, switches, VPNs, and communication gateways.
• Hands-on experience with Power Plant Controllers (PPC), EMS, BMS integration, and utility communication interfaces.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve communication and automation issues under site conditions.
• Familiarity with commissioning documentation and testing procedures.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Fluent English is required.
• Willingness to travel internationally and work on rotation-based assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with major inverter and SCADA vendors such as Sungrow, Huawei, SMA, Siemens, Schneider Electric, ABB, or similar.
• Experience working on projects above 50 MW.
• Knowledge of grid compliance and utility acceptance testing.
• Experience with BESS commissioning is a strong advantage.
