Wood is currently recruiting for an Operations Planner to join our team in Baku, Azerbaijan. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing operational schedules to support safe, efficient, and timely execution of maintenance, shutdown, and operational activities. The role requires strong Primavera P6 experience, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to work closely with operations, maintenance, and project teams.
Responsible for personal safety and working within the provisions and guidelines of Wood HSE processes and procedures. Promote Company HSE initiatives and safe working practices at all times.
- Ensure compliance with Wood Quality Assurance systems, processes, and operational requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and update integrated operational schedules using Primavera P6.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate maintenance, inspection, operational, and shutdown activities to ensure efficient utilization of resources.
- Review work scopes and coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and project teams to ensure all activities are accurately reflected within schedules.
- Establish and maintain planning structures aligned with operational priorities and business objectives.
- Prepare short-term, medium-term, and long-term schedules to support operational execution.
- Produce manpower and resource forecasts to support workforce planning and efficient execution of activities.
- Monitor schedule performance, identify potential delays, bottlenecks, and conflicts, and recommend corrective actions.
- Facilitate weekly and daily planning meetings with relevant stakeholders to review priorities, progress, and upcoming activities.
- Analyze schedule impacts resulting from scope changes, emergent work, or operational constraints and assist in developing recovery plans.
- Generate and issue regular schedule updates, progress reports, KPI reports, and planning dashboards.
- Liaise closely with operations teams to ensure accurate work status reporting and progress measurement.
- Support shutdown, turnaround, and campaign planning activities where required.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work, outstanding tasks, and schedule performance metrics.
- Assist in resource leveling and optimization to maximize operational efficiency.
- Participate in schedule risk assessments and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Act as the focal point for planning and scheduling activities within assigned operational areas.
- Mentor junior planning personnel and provide guidance on planning best practices and Primavera P6 utilization.
- Support audits, reviews, and planning process improvement initiatives as required.
- Proven experience in Planning, Scheduling, or Project Controls within Oil & Gas, Energy, or Industrial Operations.
- Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 is essential.
- Experience planning maintenance, operations, shutdown, or brownfield activities.
- Knowledge of SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) is advantageous, including experience with work order management, maintenance planning, and scheduling processes.
- Excellent analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment and manage competing priorities.
