ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES General Team Responsibilities As a member of the SDC Subsea Quality Team the QC Inspector Welding/Coating will have the following general responsibilities: Implementing safe and efficient execution of project scopes Awareness and promotion of project goals in respect of HSE, cost, schedule & technical integrity Direction, motivation, support and leadership to project team members and contractors. Awareness and promotion of CLIENT GPO expectations of Safe Design and Quality Build and conformance to the GPO Operating Management System (OMS) requirements including risk management, continuous improvement and management of change. Promoting an effective and collaborative working environment with a ‘One Team’ approach. Ensuring lessons learned are captured and shared with the onshore management team Providing exemplary leadership to contractors and vendors to facilitate successful scope delivery QC Inspector (Welding/coating) Specific Responsibilities As a member of the SDC Subsea Quality team the QC Inspector Welding/Coating will have the following specific responsibilities: Providing welding and NDT support during the fabrication of installation aids Providing oversight of storage and preservation conditions of Line pipes. Providing QC support during the Field Joint Coating (FJC) Pre-Production Test (PPT), and Welder Qualification Test (WQT) prior to offshore execution. Providing support during commissioning of the welding and the FJC equipment onboard the PLBH Monitoring the relevant quality control aspects of welding activities onboard the PLBH Monitoring relevant quality control aspects of FJC activities onboard the PLBH Assisting CLIENT Quality Inspection Supervisor to provide daily reports/updates identifying status of work quality, safety, team behavior, areas of concern and suggestions for improvement Ensuring that all relevant quality documentation, testing and inspection results are properly documented, complete and handed over in accordance with the information handover specification General Quality Management Responsibilities As a member of the SDC Subsea Quality team the QC Inspector Welding/Coating will have the following general quality management responsibilities: Providing guidance, advice and training to project team, contractors, suppliers, inspectors and third parties as required to ensure understanding of the Project Quality objectives. Reviewing the contractor’s Inspection & Test Plans and other relevant quality documentation. Identifying Contractor’s and Sub-contractor quality risk and providing quality audit support Coordinating any Independent Verification Body inspection activities on the pipelay barge Facilitating the project activities to handle contractor queries, non-conformances, deviations and concession requests QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Essential CSWIP 3.2.1 Senior Welding Inspector Plus, hold at least 1 of the coating inspection qualifications listed below: CSWIP/BGAS Coating Inspector grade 2 NACE Coating Inspector level 2 UK ICorr Coating Inspector Level 2 A minimum of 10years offshore construction experience Direct offshore experience of pipe-lay barge operations with mechanized welding and 3LPE, LE and HSS FJC systems is preferred SKILL REQUIREMENTS & KEY BEHAVIOURS Skill Requirements: Exhibits understanding of CLIENT ’s engineering and construction practices and the latest international standards that assure integrity of build and construction quality, Proactively demonstrates sophisticated decision-making and leadership skills Ability to intervene in critical situations in order to redirect focus and achieve the required result, A high level of proven communication, interpersonal and people management skills, Financial and commercial awareness, Self-motivated & Computer literate, Key Behaviours: Safety Play a leading role in the promotion of an excellent HSE culture, and demonstrate CLIENT ’s commitment to achieving and maintaining the highest possible standards of HSE, Proven capability to develop team safety and risk management skills, Follows the requirements specified in OMS, and contributes to the delivery of safe, compliant and reliable operations.
