Senior Mechanical Engineer – Author Supervision

PortBIM MMC is currently looking for Senior Mechanical Engineer for Author Supervision of Mechanical Systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage and Fire Fighting) on the ongoing construction projects.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited

Carry out author supervision of Mechanical systems on site to ensure installation complies with the approved design, international standards and local requirements.
Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals and method statements for mechanical works for compliance with the design.
Attend Technical meetings with the Client, Designer and Site Chiefs.
Support our Site Chiefs with design related issues and provide technical solutions to site queries (RFIs) and design changes.
Participate in development of company design approach, methods and templates based on international standard and practice.
Control site activities and documentation such as author supervision reports, site instructions, inspection requests, as-built drawings, testing and commissioning records, daily/weekly reports, etc.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
Minimum 5 years of experience in both mechanical design and site works (supervision/installation) on major infrastructure and building projects, preferably on commercial projects.
AutoCAD advanced; knowledge of Revit MEP is an advantage.
English intermediate or upper.
Capable of preparing and reviewing mechanical design packages including heat load and hydraulic calculations, drawings, specifications, BOQ, etc.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision or in a team atmosphere.
Ability to adapt to multiple and varied responsibilities.
Familiarity with international standards and also capable of preparing Mechanical drawings based on local standards and requirements.
Good knowledge of installation, testing and commissioning of HVAC, plumbing, drainage and fire fighting systems.
