Job Summary
The Development Planner is responsible for owning the plan and delivery of the Company's doubling programme across both fields within Reservoir Development. The role is a senior, hands-on position that converts the doubling strategy into one integrated and sequenced activity plan and drives execution alongside the discipline, wells, and operations teams.
The role is accountable for planning and delivery, ensuring progress against the programme and driving execution on the ground. This is not a coordinator position, but a hands-on role responsible for making the doubling programme happen through disciplined planning, execution, and progress management.
The role reports to the VP Reservoir Development and coordinates across Well Delivery, Reservoir Engineering, and Production Engineering, while working closely with Wells and Drilling, Operations, Procurement, and Finance.
Key Responsibilities

• Own the integrated development plan and activity sequence across both fields, including drilling, workovers, artificial lift, waterflood, EOR, and surveillance.
• Drive execution to the plan by maintaining the schedule, tracking progress, and serving as the single owner of programme status.
• Balance the plan against rig, crew, and resource availability, ensuring rig demand and supply remain aligned.
• Convert reservoir targets and well inventories into a scheduled programme with defined dates, owners, and dependencies.
• Re-plan activities when delays occur and escalate blockers early to the relevant function.
• Ensure the plan remains aligned with production targets and reserves progression so that performance metrics remain consistent.
• Provide a single integrated view of programme progress to the leadership team and the fortnightly production review.
• Support tender evaluation and well sequencing activities with the wells and operations teams.
  

Key Requirements:

• Strong and experienced engineer with proven experience in both development planning and delivery.
• Experience in multi-rig campaign planning and delivery across drilling, workovers, and interventions.
• Fluent across reservoir engineering and well delivery, with the ability to interpret subsurface plans and rig schedules together.
• Demonstrated ability to drive execution across disciplines and hold teams accountable to commitments and delivery dates.
• Strong discipline in scheduling, prioritisation, dependency management, and progress tracking.
• Hands-on and delivery-focused approach, with credibility among both directors and operations teams.
• Competent in planning and reservoir engineering tools.
• Proficient in Azerbaijani language.
