Role Description The Smeta mühəndisi (Cost Estimation Engineer) is a full-time, on-site role based in Hajigabul. The position is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for railway electrification, SCADA/automation projects, and substation works. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing technical drawings and specifications, collecting and validating pricing information from suppliers and contractors, and updating cost databases and estimation models. The role involves collaborating closely with design engineers, project managers, and procurement teams to ensure estimates are accurate, aligned with project requirements, and consistent with safety and quality standards. The Smeta mühəndisi also supports tender preparation, cost optimization, and financial tracking throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in cost estimation, budgeting, and preparing bills of quantities for engineering and construction projects.
• Candidates should possess skills in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation related to electrification and civil works.
• Candidates should possess skills in using estimation software, spreadsheets, and relevant engineering or CAD tools to develop and maintain accurate cost models.
• Candidates should possess skills in data analysis, market research for pricing, and evaluation of supplier and contractor proposals.
• Candidates should possess skills in written and verbal communication, teamwork, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, procurement, and project management teams.
• Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, or industrial engineering (or a related technical field) are highly beneficial.
• Experience in infrastructure projects, electrification or substations is an advantage.
• Demonstrated attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to safety, quality, and ethical business practices are expected.
