Cost Control Engineer – Renewable Energy Projects

Enerso is looking for a Cost Control Engineer to support the execution of utility-scale Solar PV projects in Jabrayil and Nakhchivan.

The successful candidate will be responsible for project cost monitoring, forecasting, reporting, and analysis, working closely with Project Management, Project Controls, Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Finance teams to ensure effective financial control throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project cost control systems, cost breakdown structures (CBS), budgets, and cost baselines.
• Monitor project actual costs, commitments, accruals, and forecasts against the approved budget.
• Prepare regular cost reports, forecasts, cash-flow projections, and variance analyses.
• Identify cost deviations, trends, and potential overruns and provide timely information to project management.
• Monitor costs related to engineering, procurement, construction, subcontractors, equipment, materials, and other project activities.
• Support the evaluation and cost impact assessment of variations, change orders, and claims.
• Coordinate with Procurement and Contracts teams to monitor purchase orders, subcontract commitments, and related expenditures.
• Work closely with Planning Engineers to align cost performance with project progress and schedule.
• Support monthly project reviews and preparation of management reports and dashboards.
• Assist with project budgeting, cost reconciliation, and project close-out activities.
• Ensure cost control activities comply with company procedures and project requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in project cost control, preferably within renewable energy, power, EPC, construction, or oil & gas projects.
• Experience with Solar PV, renewable energy, or power generation projects would be a strong advantage.
• Good understanding of project budgeting, forecasting, cost reporting, change management, and project controls principles.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP/project management systems is an advantage.
• Ability to analyse large volumes of cost and project data and provide clear management reporting.
• Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Fluency in Azerbaijani and English; Russian is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel to and work at project sites in Jabrayil and/or Nakhchivan when required.
