Role Description The PYP Homeroom Teacher is a full-time, on-site position based in Baku. This role is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme, integrating language, mathematics, science, social studies, and personal, social, and physical education. The teacher will assess student progress using a range of formative and summative strategies, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records. Daily responsibilities include creating a safe and inclusive classroom environment, differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs, collaborating with colleagues on curriculum and school initiatives, and communicating regularly with families. The teacher will also participate in school events, professional learning, and PYP-related meetings to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Formal teaching qualification and Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; IB PYP training or experience is highly desirable.
Proven classroom teaching experience in primary/elementary education, preferably in an international or bilingual school setting.
Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to create an inclusive, learner-centered, and inquiry-driven environment.
Excellent English language communication skills, including clear instructional language, professional writing, and effective parent communication.
Experience with inquiry-based and concept-driven curriculum planning, student-centered assessment, and differentiation for diverse learners.
Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a multicultural team with students, colleagues, and families.
Comfort with educational technology and digital tools to enhance teaching, learning, and reporting.
Commitment to ongoing professional development, reflective practice, and promoting the values of international-mindedness and inclusion.
