IT Service Engineer – Systems Administrator

ROLE

Provide IT system administration and operational support to ensure the availability, security and performance of SICPA's solutions. Manage infrastructure, support production environments, and collaborate with local and global teams to deliver reliable IT services.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain systems hosting business applications and databases, including storage, backup and monitoring
• Operate and support IT solutions using industry-standard tools (e.g. Puppet, Nagios and Splunk)
• Perform system administration activities, including patch management, capacity planning, backup and recovery
• Ensure system security and compliance with SICPA global IT policies and standards
• Configure, maintain and operate solution monitoring tools
• Maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) for IT assets
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues and escalate when appropriate
• Support disaster recovery activities and ensure compliance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
• Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers
• Collaborate with local and global teams to ensure efficient and reliable service delivery

This role also involves

• Supporting infrastructure improvements and continuous optimisation initiatives
• Contributing to system documentation, operational procedures and best practices
• Participating in operational support activities outside normal business hours when required

PROFILE

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in systems administration within a production, data centre or managed services environment
• Solid experience administering Microsoft Windows Server and Windows Client environments
• Experience with storage (SAN), networking and virtualisation technologies, particularly VMware
• Knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP, user access management and VPN administration
• Familiarity with ITIL principles and systems administration best practices
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional and global teams
• Fluent in English (minimum a C1 Level)

Knowledge in one or more of the following areas is an advantage

• Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification
• Cisco certification
• Experience with Puppet, Nagios, Splunk or similar enterprise infrastructure tools
• Experience in high-availability infrastructure design and disaster recovery environments
