We are looking for an experienced Senior Editor (News Output) to join a high-level international media project in Baku.

The successful candidate will lead news output during assigned shifts, making key editorial decisions regarding story selection, running order and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the news desk during assigned shifts
• Select stories and determine the running order
• Assign tasks to journalists and producers
• Edit scripts, headlines and on-screen text for accuracy and clarity
• Lead editorial coverage during breaking news
• Verify sources and materials before broadcast
• Ensure compliance with editorial standards
• Coordinate coverage with correspondents and the planning desk
• Coach journalists and provide structured editorial feedback
• Contribute to editorial and style guidelines

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in news journalism
• At least 5 years as a Senior Editor, Output Editor or Shift Editor
• Proven experience leading live breaking news coverage
• Excellent Azerbaijani writing and editing skills
• Good working English for collaboration with international colleagues
• Strong editorial judgement and ability to make fast decisions
• Hands-on approach and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced newsroom
