Job responsibilities

• Advise management on legal, regulatory and compliance matters related to school operations;
• Manage licensing, permits, regulatory approvals and related communications with authorities;
• Monitor regulatory developments and ensure compliance with applicable requirements;
• Provide legal support on admissions, tuition, student matters, school policies and privacy;
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial, employment and operational agreements;
• Handle employment, corporate and governance matters, including resolutions and powers of attorney;
• Identify legal risks, provide practical advice and manage disputes and sensitive legal matters;
• Supervise and support the Junior Lawyer and coordinate with external counsel and the EBC Legal Office when required.

Requirements

• Law degree from a recognized university;
• 5+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably in-house or in a reputable law firm;
• Strong experience in licensing, regulatory matters and compliance;
• Solid knowledge of corporate, commercial and employment law;
• Strong contract drafting, review and negotiation skills;
• Experience working with governmental and regulatory authorities;
• Excellent Azerbaijani and English; Russian is an advantage;
• Strong judgment, communication, organizational and leadership skills.
