The Bir ecosystem CDO Office is building a unified, scalable, and value-driven data and analytics ecosystem across its verticals. The objective is to establish trusted, well-governed, and business-ready data as a foundation for decision-making, regulatory compliance, and advanced analytics.

We are hiring an Ecosystem Data Governance Expert to own and drive the Data Governance stream at ecosystem level, ensuring consistency, regulatory alignment, and business enablement across all verticals.

This role is accountable for governance strategy, operating model, execution oversight, and measurable outcomes across the ecosystem, working closely with Data Stewardship, Data Quality, Analytics, AI & Science teams and senior business stakeholders.

Strategic Leadership & Governance Model:

Defines, owns, and evolves the Ecosystem Data Governance strategy, operating model, and roadmap aligned with Ecosystem business objectives and regulatory obligations.

Establishes and governs ecosystem-wide data governance policies, standards, procedures, and frameworks, ensuring consistent adoption across verticals.

Ensures alignment between Ecosystem governance principles and vertical-specific execution, balancing standardization with local business needs.

Execution Oversight & Enablement:

Leads and coordinates Data Governance implementation across verticals, working through vertical level Data Stewrdship, Central Data Quality team and Domain teams.

Conducts regular governance maturity reviews across verticals; identifies gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.

Applies continuous improvement and feedback mechanisms to governance processes, tooling, and organizational practices.

Stakeholder & Program Management:

Acts as the primary escalation and coordination point for ecosystem-level data governance matters involving business, IT, analytics, data science, risk, and compliance.

Facilitates executive-level and cross-vertical steering committees, and working groups.

Translates strategic discussions into actionable governance artifacts: workflows, standards, RACI models, policies, roadmaps, and executive presentations.

Oversees governance-related delivery cadence (quarterly planning, monthly reviews, executive reporting).

KPIs, Reporting & Value Measurement:

• Defines and tracks ecosystem-level Data Governance KPIs, measuring:
• Governance adoption & maturity
• Regulatory compliance
• Business enablement and analytics readiness
• Prepares high-quality executive dashboards, reports, and visualizations demonstrating governance progress and value realization.
• Proactively identifies risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks, escalating to senior management when required.

Tools, Standards & Best Practices:

Identifies opportunities to standardize governance processes and tooling across the ecosystem.

Ensures alignment with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and internal control frameworks.

People, Culture & Capability Building:

Drives data governance awareness, education, and adoption across verticals.

Supports the development and upskilling of Data Governance, Data Stewardship, and Data Quality professionals.

Acts as an ecosystem-level subject matter expert, providing guidance on complex governance, ownership, and data responsibility challenges.

Contributes to building a data-driven culture grounded in accountability, transparency, and trust.

Proven experience leading Data Governance initiatives across multiple business units or organizations.

Experience in operating model design, policy development, and large-scale implementation.

Experience with business process design, implementation, and continuous improvement.

Experience in program or portfolio management (certification is a plus).
